Oh I didn't even know For real was renovating... and will now be a luxury boutique called Sandy Haven. Will you also change the pastel exterior which has become a landmark on the Negril skyline for me?

boo hiss, i adored that gorgeous hot pink tropical vision, LOL, and will miss that spot, it has been my favorite beach hang out for a few years now. Really hoping the new place keeps the nice vibes, and that they don't make it all stoosh and unapproachable and fake-exclusive....

It may be noisy for nearby resorts if it is a major renovation with construction going on. Something to think about.

That is a bummer. I liked that place. This is just like when Pirate's Cave closed down..and I know they have a new business with good food from all I have heard, but it's just not the same..especially since the stairs are locked up.

Oh PGW, why am I not surprised at your post...LOL. " Dr. Bill's "...use to call it Shea Stadium because of the orange and blue, ( yes I'm a Mets Fan! ). The bar still had remnants on the tree inside the bar.

I'm gett'n all worked up here....my..no, our favorite bar on the beach!!! Sucks......................

Just saw this thread I sure hope, Maureen,Pops,Sammy, all come out of this ok, good folks there. Really enjoyed hanging there with them.

sorry to say the word from someone there now, is that the bar is being torn down to make room for a new restaurant, (but possibly will be moved elsewhere on property), and that staff will not be retained.

well, if the bar will be torn down, or at least relocated until construction is done, there won't be any work for them (or the rest of the staff for that matter) while the hotel is being renovated, for 4-5 months ....

Hey Kimbobwee thats where you were waiting for the Seastar shutlle and as you walked away someone yelled out hey buddy! Now thats something to remember the For Real bar!

I was chatting with Maureen yesterday and she said that the place has not been sold but rather leased to the new people from Kingston. Sammy, who sells crafts behind the bar is no longer there as well as Karl who drove the bus for the hotel. Robert, Maureen and Pops are still there and hope to be employed when all is said and done when they reopen.

Seems like they are looking into moving the restraunt out towards the beach front.....so yes there will be plenty noise if this happens.

I too will hate to see the pepto pink go and of course the Red Stripe prices
