First of all, sorry I dont have the talent that Clarity and Markus do.

Day 5, Sunday, 2 people left. We had planned to take a trip to YS Falls but were more content sitting around…sand gravity. Some of us braved the craft market and found some goods to bring home. That night we had pizza at the Italian café by Café Goa.

Day 6, Monday, half of the group left for home, leaving me and my husband, and my family. The men took a deep sea fishing adventure, catching 1 large fish a Mahi Mahi. The ladies went to Grange Hill School to deliver the pounds and pounds of school supplies we brought and lots of toothbrushes and toothpaste my sister-in-law brought. My friend Craig took us to this school which is where his daughter attends. The trip to the country was scenic as usual. We arrived at this little school with 20 kids age 4-6, no AC or water. They were so excited to see all the stuff we brought, they each put their toothbrush in their pocket and got a sucker. The smiles on their faces are just so genuine. They sang a song for us with their hands moving about. We stopped at Craig’s home and met his niece and nephew. That night my soon to be sister in law filleted the fish with a butter knife and with other’s help they pan fried it. My brothers ran to the street to grab a few jerk chickens and dinner was terrific. I made what my family calls Oatmeal Cookies for dessert, most call them chocolate no bake cookies.

Day 7, Tuesday, we laid on the beach, did some shopping at Times Square. We all found out my brother proposed to his girlfriend the night before, on the beach! For dinner we went to Canoe Bar. The service was great, Georgia. The food was good, especially the fries. They were out of hamburger, which by then, everyone wanted a greasy cheeseburger. We had a beer at Bourbon Beach, by the way, this place was dead, no music this week.

Day 8, Wednesday, everyone else left for home leaving me and Kevin for our honeymoon. It was really sad seeing everyone off. The group we came with was so much fun, everyone got along well and was laid back; there were some great laughs. It was really neat pretty much having the place to ourselves, with that many of us, there was always someone on the hotel path, on the beach, at the bar, in the sea. Kevin and I had massages at the same time with Beverly and Dawn at NBCC, an hour of peaceful bliss. His first professional massage. After lunch at Lingah we packed and left for 2 nights at Tensing Pen. Leaving our piece of beach was sad as well, its funny how you get so comfortable with a place and the people. Our pillar cottage at TP was so cool, just like being in a tree house. Bill, the photographer, came over and took some more photos. It’s a beautiful property. Kevin and I had planned to jump in our wedding clothes from their bridge, trash the dress, but….can’t tell you whether we did or not as it’s part of the surprise at our home town reception in June. We ate dinner at LTU, of course I had Chicken Lola. Ummmm. That night in our tree house, all night long, I heard the crashing waves, mourning doves, and tree frogs~surreal. We had the door to our patio open and the breeze coming through.

Day 9, Thursday, we walked to town to get some photos developed for the school kids and do some last day shopping. Bill picked us up at Pushcart, where we stopped for a drink, and took up back to TP to view all the photos on his laptop. We did some snorkeling near the cliff and laid out. That evening we went to Ivan’s for dinner, love that place. The menu at TP isn’t all that great so we didn’t eat there other than continental breakfast. Another peaceful night with the mourning doves.

Last day, Friday, we grabbed chairs and laid on the cliff edge watching the waves, happy to have been blessed with such a great vacation and sad to be leaving. Kevin was much more ready to leave than I.

The beach was slower than I have ever seen it, sounds like “busy” season wasn’t all that busy either. The hustlers were more aggressive than ever before and some were very rude. I am usually not bothered by this but it was a bit much even for me and the group all commented that it was the only thing they did not like about the trip. I got to see several old friends, but one was missing. Kenneth “Hutchi” who died in December was a very good friend and I am sad that everyone didn’t get to meet him on this trip. One day Kevins parents, my dad and his wife, and my grandparents took a trip to the country to see how the locals live, they found that very eye opening. In past trips we have went out to the live music nightly and this trip a couple of us made it once and the rest didn’t go out at all. Relaxing all day on the beach really wears a person out!

thanks for sharing your wedding with us, Congrats! It sounded so stress-less, esp. considering you brought so many guests and newbies with you. I would love to see photos of your trip.

What's this nonsense about about not having "writing talent"? Please don't say things like that. :(
Thank you for sharing this trip report! I truly enjoyed reading both Part 1 and 2. :) I absorbed your writing during my lunch break today. I didn't get a chance to comment until now.

It sounds like you had such a beautiful romantic wedding. Walking barefoot in the sand down the aisle on your wedding day sounds like the ultimate dream come true! I hope to see some pictures! I can't wait until you are able to reveal whether or not you jumped off that bridge in your wedding dress!

I think it's wonderful that you visited a school in Jamaica and donated so many things. The description of the students smiling with lollipops in their mouths and new toothbrushes in their pockets was heartwarming. Not many people take time from their vacation to drive out to a school that is in need of supplies and help them out. It's beautiful to make a genuine difference in the life of the people the encounter in such a way...especially during your honeymoon. that's truly special.

"That night in our tree house, all night long, I heard the crashing waves, mourning doves, and tree frogs~surreal. We had the door to our patio open and the breeze coming through. " Sounds so blissful....

Congratulations to you and yours. I'm wishing you all the best in your future together!

thank you everyone, it was amazing. I cannot figure out how to downsize the pics and put them on here, I have lots of great ones. Maybe I can email a few to someone to put on here? IDK, I just cant get it!

Marley, I couldnt get a hold of Karl to paint the picture once we got there. He was very willing when I asked him about a month prior. I did see him on the beach a few days after the wedding :( sounds like he's having personal issues and phone problems.
I did have Jocko at Roots paint an awesome sign with our names and date.

Same for me. Bought a painting this trip for myself. I used to buy for FOJ auctions and never got one for myself.

i bought some paintings from Karl Ricketts .... Great guy, great artist. .... His popularity is especially impressive because of the increasing amount of hustlers who would rather ask for a handout .... Ricketts is a Legend.
