so is Mingles like a night club/ dance bar or daytime spot to?

Mingles is both. By day you can stop in for a drink as you can in any "rum bar". On certain nights, they have parties (music) and food. Any driver who regularly plies the route between Negril and Sav should be able to tell you what's coming up during the time you're on the island.

We've stopped by in the afternoons a few times and just few people there, and went on a Fri night once and bar packed wall to wall and parking lot packed with people and music outside also. Had fun and good time with very little to no hassle at all, had driver with us tho.
