    Best in the West

I have been advised that the new sidewalk is unfortunately going to run right through the middle of our most favorite jerk chicken experience [for past 15 years anyway]. What is the status of their rebuilding and what if any impact will this have with being closed down for any period of time? Bringing some newbes with us late Sept and would hate to miss out on this BIW!

    huh..??
    :-(

    i'm not understanding your *concern*
    and what you've been *advised*

are your referring to the *new* BeachRoad sidewalk..???

am i correct..??..:::>> Best in the West is on the BeachRoad, na tru ???

I was in Negril a couple of months ago,
and noticed the continue-ing sidewalk construction
.....to me, that sidewalk is one of the BEST-est things they've done/are doing in Negril.
...........'tis too-bad they don't have it (yet) on the OTHER-side of the road.

    as for your *concern*
that the sidewalk is gonna '''...run right through the middle..''' of Best-in-the-West,
    i can't *imagine*/picture that happening.

    however,
there *might* be a couple of spots along the roadside,
    that may butt-up really-close to the new-sidewalk,
but that sidewalk ain't gonna run thru the MIDDLE of no-place

    close..???... yes [[ maybe ]]
but that's no biggie ..... just move-back a couple feet

'''...right thru the MIDDLE...''' ...????... noooooooooooo way...!!!

some-somebody put a likkle too much *yeast* in the story, mi fren

    my last trip,
    a couple of months ago,
i didn't see any business-es closed due to sidewalk building work.

    don't fret and/or worry.

you'll have no problem getting and enjoying your favorite jerk-place.
    ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
    IF they're open-ed.::::: after-all, September is still kinda-sorta slow-season-ish

What you see in the front of the Best in the West photos posted by VVHT is the beach road...which means the sidewalk will be built right through the middle of their building.
The sidewalk work has already been started on either side of that building...they will have to move their property further back to accommodate...

    ooooooooooooooooooooooh kaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay

    much-appreciate the *clarification*

    but:::::>> NO biggie..!!..
....movement of jerk-barrels, chairs, tables, signage, building, what-ever should be a $imple & ea$y matter.
.........a *move* a few feet shouldn't change the taste/quality/etc of the meat, beer, drinks, etc.

The owner is very concerned. The bar, store are in the way and the front house is very close.

Uh, it's not exactly a simple or cheap thing to move a structure. Especially given the construction methods used down there.

Last time I moved a house it took:

Four mules and a cart with two drivers
Twenty five or so able bodies from teens to old men
Four boxes of Red Stripe and two bottles of proof rum
Every body got paid in cash

Moved a 16 x 12 board house up Zion Hill.

    Somewhere I have pictures

    They'll move it! Believe it!

    Re: Best in the West

I am a construction guy in the US and I can build/move anything. I was impressed (extremely impressed) when we were at Xtabi in January and a whole house came down the west end road on a couple of trucks, tiny road, etc. I think if Jamaicans want to make something happen, it will happen. They are very resourceful people.
