Smith, I did not get to Lucea

I had good intentions to strive with the utmost courage and vigor.

But, I could not make it out to Lucea.
I was telling my friend about it.
    She said, well Mark....look around.
    Where are you?
Um, I'm up on a hill.
    What do you see.
Um, a Tropical Valley, full of Banana Trees and Coconut trees, rolling hills and goats here and there.

Well, Lucea is something like this area.
See that? That is a primary school, You want to visit and see a school? There you are.
    Hmmmm, your're right!
It's right down the road, 100 yards!

So, with the planned trip to Bluefields Beach and the road trip to Sav La Mar and yada, yada, yada.
    Time ran out.

    Hey Smith,
Yeah Sav was a trip in itself.
I ran in and out of likkle stores here and there.

My friend had to go into the Court house to drop off some papers, but the lady was not there at that time.
    at first I went.
There were folks all crowded up to this first window,
there was a chair nobody was sitting in.
My friend pointed to it , So I sat down.
But, It was kinda claustrophobic in there, so I went outside to wait.

There is a police station right next to the court house.
The courthouse has an upstairs with a Veranda.
Some people were just leaning over looking at the street.
"what are they doing up there? I asked.

"they probably are waiting for their court time.
What kind of things are tried here?
    "All kinds, she said.
    Interesting place.

I was there on a Sunday afternoon, needing assistance from the "Sup" (superintendent). Folks were gathering at the doorway with meals and drinks brought for someone in jail. They had to have ID and everything was inspected, drinks poured out into plastic bags, ice not allowed. We were led through the crowd and up deeply-worn stairs to wait for the Sup, who was out on the road. Upstairs is partly open-air with a wall of louvered windows, chairs in tight rows and a desk in the back for posting bail. The Sup was professional, kindly and got my issue resolved that day.

Funny thing, in Jamaica I feel all right at the police station; when I go into a bank I feel nervous. In the US it is the opposite x 2, LOL.

Haha Markospoon...no offence to Smith's idea of taking a Jamaican woman into the "hills" of Lucea...but I did have a good chuckle when I first read the post. I thought of saying something...but knew your friend would nix that idea immediately.
Glad you got to enjoy Bluefields...nice people around there.
