Exclamation Canadians - use or lose Air Miles older than 5 years by year end 2016

Attached article gives info on how to best redeem your older air miles before year end, including a link to sending an email to Air Miles Canada for a breakdown of when your air miles expire.

I had a lot on unused air miles because I hadn't been to Negril since 2012 due to health reasons ...so this is what is getting me travelling again. Just booked flights Vancouver/Toronto/MoBay for November 22-Dec 6 return for 1 person for 6800 airmiles plus $241 CAD for taxes which just about uses up my airmiles that will expire on January 1, 2017. You can book flights via the internet using their website without having to phone them.

Now I just need to arrange travel medical insurance. Leaning toward using RBC insurance at price of $563 CAD - expensive but I have several pre existing medical conditions and it does include medical evacuation to Canada. I also have a quote coming from Manulife but judging from the amount of medical questions asked, I expect it will be just as much if not higher. Does anyone have any other suggestions for travel medical insurance from Canada - has to include evacuation to Canada as the costs of hospital/medical care in USA for Canadians is mindblowing (which is likely a similar story for US visitors who require medical care in Canada).

Now I'm excited - will be in Negril in 4 months. Accomodation already arranged at my home away from home - Caribbean Delight.

This is why I use Aeroplan and not Air miles. I have an Aeroplan Visa, which I use to add miles. Also, many places accept the Aeroplan card. In conjunction with my visa I can get double miles. Since I use it, the miles stay where they are until I book a trip.
