Trip Report #10-The case of the frozen Red Stripe

I have often explained to people, that
I insist on extremely cold beer.
If it's just regularly cold, I'll wait.

If it has chunks of ice floating in it, excellent.

The house I am staying has a nice size refrigerator/freezer.
Along with the food, there is plenty of room for 10-12 bottles of beer.

I put one in the Freezer to start.
When I grab one from the freezer, I replace it.

Since I drink about 8-10 a day, there must be cold beer on hand.
At all times. (I know, what a demanding guy)

One day, I had forgot to load up the freezer.
When I asked my honey to bring me a beer, she got a regular one from the fridge.
She saw on my face that something was not quite right.

There are none in the freezer, only the fridge.
"I'll go put some in the freezer now" she said.

About 15 minutes later it was nice and cold.

We got into something, it took a while, and then it was time
    for round 2, "Ding"

I said "I'll get it, doll".
I opened the Freezer and saw about 6 frozen beers!

I found one that seemed to be almost thawed/liquid.
I took it out, along with the rest and put them in the fridge.

I cracked that one open and all the liquid shot out.

    My girl laughed and laughed.

What am I to do now?

She got another frozen one out, then she poured some very hot water that
she had on the stove in a bowl and set the beer in the bowl.

"You and your cold beer", Ha Ha Ha.

    I can't help it. LOL

So, that is the one problem I have in Jamaica.
I must remember that if there is beer in the freezer, make sure to get it out before it freezes.

Like the song says " It's a thin line between love and hate".

I usually start making bloody mary's about 1600. Some nights it's proof rum and juice.

Not a beer dinker except when in the car ...(say what?)

Don't drink until 1600. Too much work to do during the day......Except.........

During the day my crew stops for a bulla and a drink of white rum You know the song "work all night on a drink of rum"? This is how it works in the hills. I'm with the crew so I guess that counts as drink......

    Country life...

It's been awhile, but my recollection of Negril in the 1980's is that finding really cold beer was something of a challenge. I remember a wild concert on the beach. The beer was served up from a barrel of ice and water and generally not particularly cold. We drank too many until the sun was starting to brighten the eastern sky. My friend and I went for one more round and asked the guy selling for two really cold ones. "No problem, mon!" He dug into the barrel right up to his shoulder and fished around for awhile until he finally brought up two Stripes. We laughed our arses off as soon as we took a swig of the sorta cool beer.
We're all in this together and none of us is getting out alive.
