Question for Rob or Lisa ...
If I wanted to install Cable TV - what are my options. I want to be able to keep up with all my 'stories' ~
Revenge, Scandal, Bravo Housewives (trashy mindless habit! :o), Dowton Abbey .... yada yada ~ current US Networks, etc. OR ... can one access something like Netflix or some sort of On-Demand to watch shows in past season form??
Thanks ~ Laurel
Re: Question for Rob or Lisa ...
Laurel...same idea as back home for you...although...Netflix does not work here & On Demand with Flow only works in Kingston & maybe some other larger areas similar to Kingston...not Negril.
Check out flow cable at...

OK - thanks so much. So - if I have NetFlix loaded on my TV, and I have Internet installed in my home - I would not be able to access NetFlix? Sorry for begging for details ... just wondering what I can expect. The link you offered gives me great information! Thanks.
Re: Question for Rob or Lisa ...
Laurel...no accessing of the Netflix here.

My Canadian Netflix account is working just fine on the wifi down here. Our friend Tammy who stays here extended lengths is working as well on her TV.

Yes, it works if you have an account from your home country as in US or Canada...maybe I didn't understand you question fully, Laurel.
Re: Question for Rob or Lisa ...
If you have comcast Xfinity you can watch cable online. They charge a fee of 5$ a month to watch outside the US that includes Jamaica which is listed on there sight.
Re: Question for Rob or Lisa ...
Well - I was not exactly very clear. I bought a big flat screen and on the remote I have buttons that offer "Amazon/Netflix/M-GO"; the back of the remote has a mini key board as the TV can also be used as a computer/Internet ??? My expectation is to close out my X-finity TV & Internet package here in the States, and sign on to a Cable Company that is offered in Jamaica that would offer me the option to access some US Networks such as ABC, CBS, NBC, Bravo, Food Network, HGTV .... and if I could link into NetFlix if I had the monthly subscription - purchased from the States. There is a little 13" with rabbit ears that is used for what ever Local J-TV we can capture, but the visual is scrambled and static and running lines, etc. Not a pleasant viewing experience . A while back I brought a small flat screen that is used with a Blue-Ray disc player to watch the DVD"s, and from way back we still have a DVD/VHS player up in the Family Home for the children to watch all the VHS Tapes I had for my son .... Disney Collection's & that sort of thing.
I am just now trying to work out options for if/when I bring my household things I do not want to part with if I choose to stay on a more permanent basis and possibly stop maintaining a permanent home here in the States.
