Does a foreigner really have to pay a speeding ticket?
Got on Saturday in westmoreland on the way to airport from Treasure beach. 73 ina 50. Cop said i could pay online but car rental people said not to worry with it. Anyone have any advice? there is nothing on the ticket that gives any website information and he would not take payment at the time. My court date is feb!

Ha! Yes, you do need to pay it. And you can pay it at any of the Paymaster locations as well as any of the tax offices island wide. The tax offices can be paid online at this link:

If you plan on visiting Jamaica again, please pay the ticket. It will save you much grief in the future. And you are lucky you didnt get taken in for trying to bribe an officer. That old, misguided information to say "how much is the fine if I pay it now?" will generally get you a "go directly to jail, do not pass go" kinda day... (grin)

You can pay traffic tickets in Negril at the Paymaster. It is located around the corner from the Juci Beef Plaza, up the lane on your left, before you reach the veggie ladies

Thanks Rob I don't want any trouble. I wasn't too blatant just asked him the best way to pay this given I was on my way out of the country. An authentic Jamaican 50$ souvenir i guess!!
