my little water test
ok folks, not to rehash an old subject but .......I brought some water home from my trip feb 8- 15
I filled up a bottle of the brown water on feb 12 from the area in front of travelers beach
the water had a slight brown color in the bottle but looked much darker brown in the sea
I was waist deep
with a kit I purchase called pro-lab bacteria water test kit, I started the experiment
http://www.prolabinc.com/bacteria-in-water.html
after the 48 hours incubation period in the petri jar after being mixed with the solution
the results showed NO colonies present
after the 72 hour incubation period still no colonies present ....
so this may not be the best test available but .....im ok with the water
I could send in the results for further analyses but that's another 30$
hope this small experiment helps at least a bit
I will attach my pictures below

Re: my little water test
Is that a picture of you with the red collar? And, if so, was that taken before or after you drank the water?
Just joking. Not an empirical test but better than any other I have read the results from. Thanks.
Peace and Guidance

Re: my little water test
We do fecal coliform tests twice weekly where I work and it is imperative that the test be performed within 2 hours of taking a sample in a sterile bottle or it is an invalid result. I would not consider the results valid. Montego Bay Wastewater treatment plant is supposed to get samples at the Negril wastewater plant effluent once a week and test. Those are the results I would really be interested in studying.

Bob
