Questions for this April's trip regarding Duty free
I have a couple of thread that say you can purchase alcohol upon arrival at MBJ airport. One stupid question, one, maybe not so stupid...
Are Cuban cigars available at this duty free shop? I know they are sold in the shop as you leave, just want to know if I can grab some at the airport upon arrival...chime in anyone and if you have some idea of prices that would be appreciated too.
Second, can you purchase V8 Diet splash either in Montego Bay or Negril? Love Appleton VX with a little of this 'low cal' juice, LOL.
See ya at Seastar in 48 days!! YA MON!!

MY bad ..."I have read..."

When I was there in September, I saw none. I bought one at Hedo a few years ago. Monte Torpedo. From the sundries shop. I would not trust to buy one now. The import taxes in Jamaica make these extinct. All counterfeit. The ones in the tobaco shop when you leave are legit. I take my own now.....

The next question would be if they scan your passport on duty free at the airport for Cuban Cigars when leaving? If you're a US Citizen expect to have them taken away and a nice letter from the US Department of Justice when you get home educating you about the Cuban embargo. There is no La Casa Del Habanos in Jamaica nor a certified store/dealer. Most of the cigars I look at are counterfeit. I'd bring your own from the states. I usually bring 10 cigars for the week. Usually 5 La Flor Coranado and five Rocky Patel Sun grown,

I usually by 10 or so. They do not care what country you are from. When I get back to the US, ii put all my declared items in one bag. I make it easy for them to spot check me. I roll my cigars up nice and tight in a ziplock. Stash them somewhere in my carry on. The old lady's purse is always good...then again I would never promote anything against the law...just saying..
