No water? WTF?
Nirvana hands down. I was finally able to stay there last trip and loved it. Low density, great staff, deep beach, nice clean rooms. I would rather stay at Nirvana than anywhere else on the beach. White Sands is next door for cold beer if you run out, couple cool spots just a hop skip and a jump away.
Nirvana
Sandy Haven is nicer end hotel, next door is Coco La Palm, I would try them. Of your 3 choices I would say Rondell Village. Nice size rooms, bar on beach, restaurant on property but run by different people than hotel. Nirvana is rather shady & darker, more laid back & don't think they have a/c. Travellers is at far end of West End beach which is more run down & less secure. Negril Tree House is another hotel I would suggest with awesome breakfast buffet included in room price.
In the Sandy Haven price range / caliber I would look into Idle Awhile... It is amazing, laid back and really cool. You may be surprised that some places will offer you bargains to fill vacancy on short notice.
Nirvana Rondel and Travelers are on my green light list.. Rondel and Nirvana being mid beach, but Travelers conveniently closer to town...
Idle awhile is sold out. We also found a b&B called Aqua. Anyone know that place?
I called Sandy Haven and they have been without water on and off for a couple weeks...we are arriving in 2 weeks and they didn't sound very certain that the water would be up and running. And apparently they haven't offered much compensation to those who have been stuck without water during their stay!
And how far is Nirvana from Sandy Haven area on beach? We don't want to be too far from town....
here's a link to a map to help with distances: http://media.tripod.lycos.com/2567851/2007898.pdf
Thanks Kathy! That really helps a lot.
Charella Inn? Thoughts? Most places are sold out. Charella has rooms as does Aqua, Rondell and Nirvana has one room left.
I could take my chances nd keep the reservation at Sandy Haven, but I'm concerned about the water issue. I'm laid back, but I will need to shower once or twice and I'd like to be able to the flush the toilet :-)
Aqua is a great spot with beautiful rooms. More like a guest house with only a few rooms. However, it gets LOUD there as a popular music venue is really close, so sleep might be an issue. What exactly are you looking for? All places listed have fans for various reasons, so some insight will go a long way.
Also, have you looked at the West End/Cliffs? Great place to stay if you are going with a significant other and want some peace and quiet.
