Blue hole or hang at the beach

My wife and I returned last month on our trip and we pretty much did nothing . Hardly left the area after sunset. Even dinner ate whatever close.
Heading down now with our 14 and 17 year old daughters so we want to do "stuff". We will go to ricks one afternoon, do some snorkling with Vincent and considering blue hole but have never been.
Is it just jumping in the hole and swimming a bit in the pool. Sounds kinda boring . What do you think who have gone. Had never heard of it before last month which is kinda weird. Don't want to go unless we will say. Hey were glad we did that.

we did Blue Hole once, it was ok, we would rather hang on the beach, i really enjoyed The Red Stripe Catamaran, soon come

A trip to Mayfield Falls would make for one of those great unforgettable family experiences ( albeit speedier than Blue Hole)...if you are a Christmas card sender, likely to make the featured pic...so beautiful refreshing and breathtaking.

Black River is really neat and more just enjoying a pontoon ride to see some beautiful nature, gators and other wildlife.

Not sure if the morass is still open for a walking tour but that would be cheaper and easy to access.

Blue Hole had a strange unsavory vibe when I was there and no where I felt like I wanted to hang out ( esp w my kids)

Kool Runnings is a great waterpark, if you and your kids are looking for that kind of fun...

Keep checking in, as so many here offer valuable experiences to back up advice.

I love golf,,,but....I would leave the beach and golf..YaY... after like 2 hours on the course I'm like....Why? Did I leave the beach? No more golfing or long trips.

Hey Spanky, Mayfield is about an hour bu a very interesting ride. your kids will see and learn a lot from the ride alone. My kids loved Mayfield. Yours are older but that just means they can do more there. We loved blue hole as well. Thought the bar had a great vibe. kids loved pool for a change from ocean all week. Drinks are cold, attitude there relaxed. Do both. make a day of it. Spanky also sent you a pvt mess

Mayfield falls is about one hour from Negril...it's a nice trip, lots of fun :)

Agreed Lorax... And even more fun when saddled up next to you two :o. Broken record but last year was one of the special ones and I look to seek out more boardies to enrich my experiences.

YS is also wonderful but not quite as much of an interactive adventure. Mayfield is like living in the travel agents brochure...bring water shoes and if you are out of shape, as I am, plan on taking things slow esp the steps getting up to the road... I survived it and sure you will too.

You may find your kids get stricken with juvenile sand gravity and elect to beach it all day every day. That is perfectly good and natural too.
