I am officially booked@ :D :D and super excited!! Heading out for 8days on May 18 (My Birthday!).... got a great deal for Cub RIU that I couldn't pass up! ( I know I know, but it keeps my Mom happy) All Inclusive- Air, Hotel-(meals,drinks, etc ),Transportation ,all taxes, fees AND those dreaded luggage for $1100 Per person out of O' Hare Airport... I did all my research on RIU and YES I've read the good, bad and the Ugly- I've read about the beach (but can walk down to the RIU Palace beach), and how some were unfortunately victim to thefts( will be diligent about safety precautions), and about how the food is NOT all 5 star and stuff (i'm not a food critic). Its OK, I know what to expect, so It will be fine. I don't got to Jamaica to stay on the resort and I Already have plans for us to be out and about- I would have preferred staying on 7 mile, but Mom wanted be somewhere that she and my Son (10yr old) could still enjoy entertainment/ food when I go out with my daughter(20yrold) in the evening. It worked out. Mom gets her AI and I get to be back on the rock!!! At least the AI will be in Negril and not Mexico- which was our original plan...

awesome, u will love RIU Negril. I have been there a lot through the years. It is great for kids!

I think I Will too Gerry.. - I was SOOO worried about the beach AT RIU due to the pictures I've seen on TA and Oyster, but all the reviews I've read said the RIU Palace is only a 5 minute walk, and they have gorgeous beach.- that eased my mind... guess that happens when I've been spoiled by 7mile beach!

Take the kid over to the farthest right side of the beach,facing the water. Very good snorkeling 15 feet out & to the right.

Nice you are going with your Mom, daughter and your son 8 or 10 years old. Is the boyfriend still going? You should have a great time. And your son gets to spend time with Grandma. Nice birthday present.

Hi Honey!!! It's gonna be great I've stayed at RiuClub 3 times and thinks its good for a family of all ages...If I had to do an AI it would def be a Riu as I'm not a fan of the other stuffy resorts lol

Actually, the beach and ocean at RIU Club is awesome, too. 99 percent of the time, it's perfectly clear .....

Yes @ Angela My daughters boyfriend is stilll going and my son will be 10yrs old 3 days before we leave ( thanks Angela, didn't even notice I put the wrong age in the post-)---LOL- somtimes I forgot how old these kids are! At one point, my soon to be ex hubby and I had 5 kids in the house, I was really bad at keeping up with ages then...lol
