Re: Waterproof Negril Map
I made a laminated map for our first trip to Negril... no im not a teacher... yes i like to be very prepared for my trip especially first non all inclusive... Unfortunetly i felt the need to hide it in my bag because i was always being made fun and ridiculed for being too prepared. Nice to c im not the only one

- Download the Negril map here: http://media.tripod.lycos.com/2567851/2007898.pdf
- Print the map in color, double sided, with only pages 2 and 4 (go to select pages and type "2,4".
- Trim the map down as small as you can without cutting off any of the writing
- Laminate using self-adhesive laminating sheets (I used Avery 461253 73601). A regular laminating machine might work as well but I'm not sure how well it would fold, maybe someone can try and post up.
- Trim around map leaving 1/8 inch around the border (to keep a good waterproof seal)
- Fold map in half. Use a hard piece of plastic (like the scissor handle) to press down the seam.
- Fold map in half again and press down the seam.
- Place under heavy books for 24 hours to set the seams.
- Final dimensions are approximately 3-3/8" x 5-3/8", which should fit in my Dry Pak http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Hopefully others find this useful.

Cool idea!
I have always preferred the "go enough times and convert it all to memory" technique myself. ;)

Yeah me to, but after the 2nd or 3rd bar of the day and some smoke and....wait, where the hell am I?
