went for a long jog
Lucea to Point, to Fiesta/GrandPaladium Resort
purpose of excursion:::>>> check the camels
mi reach
as approach, notice some tourists inside ride-ing ride-ing ride-ing
jog to gate
security-man chatting pon cellie
i enter
he puts call on hold
"..Ah, ah, Sir .... blah blah raa... we closed @ 3:30.."
* sigh *
here we go again, mi say to self
been here 1-week without *this*-foolishness
...was wondering WHEN "it" would start
i take a deeeeeeeeeep deep breath
check mi watch::: 'twas 5:30
mi-SAY::>>> "...So,,,, you mean those foreigner-tourists inside riding NOW, have been riding SINCE 3:30...???...""
he mutters, mumbles, feigns no-speaky-English, looks dumbfound-ed like i'm speaking Russian or Sanskrit, or what-ever
he & me go back & forth
mi-SAY:::>> "..is there an office..??.. I wanna chat with someone blah blah raa raaa.."
he pauses
"..OK...go to the office.."
mi jog to office/Gift Shop
cho..!!..
the place was chock-FULL of tourists/foreigners:: purchase-ing/getting DVDs & photos of their camel riding experience
...don't/didn't THEY KNOW the place was closed since 3:30
anyhooooooooooooo
dem charge US $11 per 10-minutes for camel ride

i'm calm-ed down now, a likkle
jus' finished a chat with my Lucea-mentor
...they re-explained that even though it's 2011, this-foolishness that I way-way-waaaaaaaaaaaaay-too-often experience is "..how it go.." in Jamaica.
* sigh *
p.s.. doesn't that King statue thing-y go-on this weekend..??..
