Some things I saw in Negril that I took note of.

First thing. In the Travellers lobby, as well as by the bar, they have a huge poster with water quality information. As well as how often it is tested, and what the results are. They also have a chart showing what the levels mean.

I also saw the river break the sand bar and flow into the sea. It came up past Travellers. In that water I saw people swimming. Jamaicans included.


I saw uniformed police on the street. Not just the tourist patrol, but actual police.

Several times we saw marine patrol making sure the Jetskis were not out.

We also saw an ambulance. Unfortunately the ambulance was in an accident.

For the first time we saw horse poop on the beach.


So there it is. The good and the bad, of things frequently debated.

what sand bar? The one on the north side of the rivermouth/inlet?

There's a sand bar that stops the river from flowing into the sea.

Are they still giving out FREE bracelets on the beach? We're taking a newbie in June and he doesn't have a bracelet.
