Painting over by Arthur's for sale last Feb.
When I was in Negril last Feb. this woman Jenny sold some wonderful paintings over by Arthur's bar, I stopped by on saturday hoping to see her to buy more, but she wasnt there..I guess this must be seasonal because things seemed to be pretty quiet and empty Attachment 36756

Very quiet... We were at CCLP last week and I believe there were more vendors on the beach than tourists...

Well hopefully I will see her and her wonderful things she sells in Dec. I wonder if these crazy plane fares have anything to do with lack of tourists..
Re: Painting over by Arthur's for sale last Feb.
that's pretty much commercial art for the tourist.......
check out the Roundabout for a local artist that sells his own paintings.....
plus Kark Ricketts and Ras Husmos who walk da beach are two very good local artist......

I've been looking for a painting overlooking the cliffs on the West End. Anyone ever seen anything like this for sale by a local vendor? I didn't see anything like this on the beach, just paintings similar to what is shown in the OP's picture. Is Karl Ricketts still around and walking the beach?

First time posting, but had to jump in on this one. We were in Negril early May and ran into Karl Ricketts on the pub crawl. Made arrangements for him to bring his art work to show us the next day on the beach where we were staying. I can't post pictures of the 2 we bought from him because they are at the framers being stretched and mounted, but both are cliff scenes.
Karl has a website www.karlricketts.com where you will find his phone number. Also ran into him one night at LTU.
Last year, I was fortunate to spot Ras Husmo walking the beach with his paintings rolled up under his arm. We bought a lighthouse at sunset painting from him and have it displayed in our living room. He is a slight, elderly gentleman and I did see him again on the beach this year. I just love the originality, scenery, and color saturation of the works of both these local artists.
Thanks, Marko, for confirming what I always suspected about other artwork I was seeing everywhere.
