Just a day to wander

Day 3 and I'm in Island mode already.
Cool, calm and relaxed to the max.

I put on my shorts and a T-shirt,
Stuffed some cash in my pockets and grabbed mi sunglasses.
I'm good to go.

I have a new driver this trip. A cool older gent with a little grey in his beard and a Grey Toyota to match.
Funny how some folks look like their cars.

Anyhoo, I told him that I was heading up the beach to the craft market and I don't need a ride now.

I crossed the road and pulled up in Bar B Barn Hotel.

Real nice wooden bar and comfy seats.

I had a few cups of Joe and started my walk.
It's a nice hike on the beach with good people watching along the way.

Made it to the Craft Market and I thought I would sneak up on Rasta Ringo, a/k/a The Mountain.

No chance. He had his back to the water and saw me coming a mile away.

A very fat spliff hung from his lips and he greeted me with a big smile that soon turned upside down.
"Mi electricity got turned off" he said.
"wow, man, too bad."
"So it goes". he said.

He always has a fire going.

Medium size logs spread to look like a bicycle wheel.
He puts the pots in the center to cook.
He had his cooking fire going and a pot full of beans simmering.

"The Market is open, you can buy some fish and I will cook it tonight"

The Fish market that was being constructed last time I was there was up and running.

You should have seen the rainbow of colorful fish laid out. Folks were just bringing them in
and people were gathered around haggling for the best fish and best prices too.

"FRESH FISH!!" "YOU WANT FISH??" A portly woman asked me.
I was standing off to the side looking. I did not want to put my nose too close,
knowing I was not buying this day.

I just shook my head "not today".

I walked back to Ringo's spot and just hung out in the bright sunshine.

I have not been outside with my shirt off since August.
It felt marvelous.
It has been windy this week with big waves.
Bad for swimming,
but fantastic if you are just kicking back under the shade of a grape tree.

Ringo said "shake the tree, just grab a branch and start shaking"

The grapes that fell were the ripe ones. A funny tangy and sweet taste to them.

So I spent that morning and afternoon chillin and talking, catching up on the local running's.
