I Usually go in September and they are everywhere. I think probably August through October are the best months. Last year I got some from the beach vendors in November, but they were very sweet and nice, but were very hard to find.You could tell that they were at the end of the bearing season.
A few years back we were able to get some in the beginning of June. That was early and they weren't as big as normal but a local was able to round some up for 200J's. You should be good by now.

Tried them for the first time this week. Taste like candy. All the fruit vendors had them.
