Trip report - day 5
Walked up to Canoe for breakfast; I could swear they open at 7. Arrived around then and they were just preparing the place and the cook hadn't arrived yet. No problems... Island time!
Nice and peaceful up on the deck there listening to the crashing waves.
Back to the castle to hang out and snorkel some. Saw what appears to have been something in the electric ray family. Glad I didn't get to close!
Told the two couples I met about Canoe's lobster special and the steel drum band tonight. Arrive @ Canoe, see the two couples and Rob, quick hi to Rob and I squeeze in with the two couples at their table. Three of us got the lobster and it was not disappointing. Compliments from them for the recommendation.
I waved to Lisa as she comes in, she came and sat with me for a bit and had a nice little chat. :)
Also Rob thanks for the info...
Steel drum band was great and we had a decent, albeit hidden sunset!
Oh yeah, I was also recognized by someone else on the board :)
Don't get a big head Moose, you are going back to reality in a few days. ;)
I'm thoroughly enjoying my first and hopefully not my last trip here!
Up tomorrow: Mayfield Falls.
Until next time...

Re: Trip report - day 5
There are a lot of those little electric rays around there, there's an eel that hangs out right under the tower building. If you swim out about 100 yards and head toward town, about 3-400 yards down there's a little family of eagle rays that live out there where the dropoff starts.
Watch out for the little box jellys, the bigger moon jellys aren't bad but the box's are a *****.

Moose, bring water shoes for Mayfield falls. Flip flops or sandals won't help. If no water shoes, wear sneakers. They rent water shoes at Mayfield Fals, but in my opinion they are of the cheaper variety.
Enjoy,

Re: Trip report - day 5
I found a little moray about 50' out from Peewee's. I'll try and get in to look for the eagle rays tomorrow; I've only seen them once before while doing my certification dives off Grand Cayman.
Thanks for the info :)

Re: Trip report - day 5
Head toward Home Sweet Home (back toward town), and just follow the drop off. You'll find em.
