Carved wooden spoons I can actually use - where to buy????
I would like to have some wooden spoons carved that I can actually use when I am cooking - soups, stews, salads, etc. I don't want to have to worry about stains or chemicals leaching (sp?) into the food. Any ideas where I might have the best luck having these made? Cost isn't an issue. I would like to find someone who will carve them for me (or has actually already carved them). I do not want anything that is not made/carved locally. Thank You!!!

There is a guy who comes into Sharks who has some beautiful hand carved spoons made from Pimento wood. They are not treated with anything and are fine to use with food. I think they look awesome hanging on the wall They are really nicely done. We have been coming to Jamaica for a long time so it was nice to see something different for sale. We bought 3 in December.

You are lucky customs didn't see them or you wouldn't have them. They checked my carvings to be sure they were treated because they don'like untreated wood coming in. It could contain insects etc.
