West End Swimming
Hi, are there any resorts in the west end that let you eat and swim if you are not guest? I know Xtabi does we went there the last time we were there. I am looking for a place that is calmer than Xatbi, I am not a great swimmer, I was not too comfortable in the water there. I remember seeing a guest house ( Miss Someone) near the Rockhouse that looked calm.. Any ideas? I think I will bring a life vest with me.

Re: West End Swimming
There is a sheltered cove where LTU pub is located. They have stairs and a ladder to the water.

Re: West End Swimming
Nice cove there where LTU is but NO LADDER out of water. Maybe get permission from Villa Sur next door. I was able to climb out in front of LTU without ladder but if you are not good swimmer it would not be possible

Re: West End Swimming
Boz, when were you there last? In April (and December of '14) they were repairing the stairs and putting in a new ladder. It was supposed to be finished last year but I haven't stopped in there since then.

Re: West End Swimming
There was a ladder a couple weeks ago.

Re: West End Swimming
That cove at LTU looks nice but that's a tricky and steep ladder. I'm not sure if you are cut out to swim on the west end if xtabi is too much in my opinion

Re: West End Swimming
BE CAREFUL...the water on the west end can be very rough and hard to get OUT of the water...trust me...been there and done that

Re: West End Swimming
this February has been the toughest in years as mi have missed snorkeling more than half the month ....
December and February mi only missed 3 days.......in da Summer mi only miss one day usually......sometimes none
the rule of thumb for snorkeling in da Winter.....get in and out by 10AM.....after dat the wata can have a good chop to it
in da Summer you can go in any time......even late afternoon as the wata still calm.......which is great for snorkeling.....yah mon
don't bother snorkeling at da beach.......der is nuthin to see
