Taken at the crossroad up in Red Ground where Raggabones is located.
Raggabones would be to the left (not in view) while looking down toward
Fish World and the old Shell Station at the bottom of the hill...

Attachment 45093Love the pics., I have a few from the early 70's when I first visited Negril, like so many I fell in love and have been coming back ever since. I stayed in Red Ground on my first three Negril adventures, Twice with Arthur Campbell and his wife Jo and the third was with a gentleman named Renford and his wife whose name escapes me. From your pic taken looking down the hill, it appears to be just about in the area of Renford's. The Campbell's home was lower on the hill just behind the church which was much smaller then. Also, Arthur's father had a small restaurant on the opposite corner from the Shell station. I know I'm rambling a bit but seeing these great old photos just opened up a flood of memories, thanks for posting. I attached a pic. from 1971 before the cars disrupted feeding time.

Rob was there during Hurricane Gilbert and always mentions how you could sadly "see clear through Negril after"...
I understand that Gilbert mash up all of JA. Lot's of damage!! Too bad!!!

Awesome. Wish I was able to experience it during those days. Would love to sit on the beach one of these days and hear stories.
