Looking for Jungle Night Club info
Hi everyone. we will be returning to Negril in May / June and the last few times have thought about going to the Jungle night club. Is it a decent place? What time is the best time to go? Will a couple in their early 50's fit in? ( we can party with the best of them!). How hard is it to get a cab from the club back to our hotel?
Thanks

Re: Looking for Jungle Night Club info
I can give you my two cents. My wife and I went our first trip back in 2010. It was October, slow season. Thursday night, ladies night, which I think means only ladies get in free before ten maybe........? Mind you slow season so there were not a lot of tourists, at all, but we had a good time. There's a couple different areas with different vibes, music. There's less, "buy me a drink" because you have to pay to get in might be the case. I was over served but remember a ton of people/ vendors trying to get business as we left. It's definitely a place to check out and you'll be fine. Do your thing and nobody pays you any mind. There are a couple more "clubs" that get a bit more wild. Jungle is the most tame that's for sure

Oh and you should probably prearrange a driver back to hotel. Just try to eliminate that headache after a good night in my opinion. If I don't have a phone for our stay I usually offer a friendly face 200 j to use their phone. Usually not hard to find someone willing

Yes mid 50's can have fun at the jungle for sure, been there, done that.We stayed at Catch a Falling Star and the bartender,Kevin, took a bunch of us down to the Jungle and hung with us for the night/morning.Didn't go until 11pm and headed back about 4am.Gave up some gas money and bought a few drinks and it was nice to have a local hanging with us for a little extra security.
Re: Looking for Jungle Night Club info
mi usually go once or two a year for da "people watching" fun der on Thursday lady nights (dem open on Sat night too)
nuthin more than that as mi get mi fill of the action to last mi a very long time....lol
on Thursday lady nights da ladies get in free before midnight......and a $1,000J's for the guys to get in......
they have two different sections........upstairs and downstairs......
upstairs is can get busy during da night.......and then everyone heads downstairs which gets busy after 1AM....
drink and beer prices are reasonable....Red Stripe is like $300J's....Baileys(they give u a tiny bottle) on da rocks is $500J's
grabbing a taxi from da Jungle to anywhere on da beach road isn't gonna kill you.....you can probably get a red plate taxi
but if you grab a chartered driver to drive you back up to the Cliffs.....then it will cost you a likkle
like anywhere from $700 to $1,500J for two people.....usually dem want $1,200J's
it be real tuff to go da route taxi route in the wee hours of da morning to go up da cliffs...probably not gonna happen
Saturday nights is the drink all inclusive from 10pm to 3am.....it's around $1,500J's and think dat includes the cover charge
so if you wanna have the best chance of not being asked to buy someone a drink at da Jungle.....go on a Saturday night...lol
dem advertise the Jungle as the top NightClub in Jamaica.....and people do come from far away to go to da Jungle.....
Cool Runnings, Marko
Re: Looking for Jungle Night Club info
I've had fun there, and even though I went once with 5 ladies and another time with 2, me being the only guy each time, no problems. Had to play a little defense here or there ;) but everyone was cool.
It's fun watching the dancing upstairs after some of the older tourists get drinks in them. Then the local dudes wanna show off too. Leaving is kinda hectic so I would suggest having a driver you know waiting for you.

Are they even open? We saw no sign of it the last week of February, although we walked past it every day and evening. It wasn't abandoned, as the gates would sometimes be open with a vehicle there and other times be closed with no vehicle, but I don't think they were open.

There are reviews as recent as yesterday on trip advisor.

They open rather late in the evening and party into the wee hours of the morning so you may just have happened by during there nap time hours!

Yes, open. Fun place as mentioned a few different levels /rooms to suit different vibes. Thursday has always been the better of the nights. Leaving taxi drivers and jerk chicken stands so finding a ride or something to eat won't be a problem.
