Anyone know the current exchange for Canadian to JA?
Yes I have the app...just know that cambio rate is usually a few dollars less
Wondering what the rates are like at the airport vs going to resort to exchange CAD to JAD
DON'T change at the airport. Their rates are some of the lowest. I suggest exchanging at a cambio or FX trader. Ask your driver if he will stop on the way to Negril for you. Or wait a day then go out yourself - it's easy, give it a try.
In a pinch, some places accept Canadian but give change in Jamaican. The rates vary from day to day. I've had from 85:1 to 92:1.
there's one right on the way in mobay and it's next to a bodega. change and snacks/beers!
you really can't go by these online exchange rates at all.........
mi buddy this winter kept telling mi the rate was this and that online...
but mi was in Negril and at like the Cambios it was much less.....
usually as much as $5 less...like online dem were saying $122J and it was $117J at the Cambios for US money....
FYI - all Winter the Canadian dollar was between $78 and $83 at the Cambios....
in mid March at FX Trader beside Hilo the Canadian was $83......
so till you go to the Cambios in Jamaica......you really won't know what the rate is

Today's CAD to JMD is 1 to 87.9 at the FX Trader cambio by HiLo. The rate at a resort will be less, about 10% or more.Quote:
