Legends, Cocolapalm, or Fun Holiday
Any advice on these three resorts. Looking for an all inclusive with pool. I'm leaning towards Legends. Right now we are booked at Merrill's 2 and with the negative reviews I'm trying to cancel that reservation. We arrive September 11th and will keep our plane tickets. Being that it's slow season I don't think there should be any problems getting a room.

No question in my opinion Coco is the best by far of those choices but of course is not all inclusive...
Re: Legends, Cocolapalm, or Fun Holiday
Personally, I would eliminate Fun Holiday from your list, but I know friends of mine love it way more than I did. If I could choose between coco la palm and fh, it would be coco, hands down, no questions asked! (I haven't stayed at coco yet, just my opinion based on what I know about it)
Also, I don't think merrils is treating their people so great lately. It seems they may be having financial trouble. I have gleaned this inference from reading reports and talking to a local friend who lives right near there (I don't mean to start rumors!). Along with the recent bad reviews, that was enough to turn me away from merrils 2 as a choice for my next stay.
Re: Legends, Cocolapalm, or Fun Holiday
Just a FYI ~ if you stay @ Legends you have exchange privileges (shuttle, meals & drinks) at their "sister" property, SamSara on the cliffs...
Re: Legends, Cocolapalm, or Fun Holiday
I've stayed at FH, Merrils 2 and Legends....food at Merrils was the best but that was earlier this year. I here Coco is probably the nicest but also more expensive and have never stayed there. I think FH has the best location on the beach though.
Re: Legends, Cocolapalm, or Fun Holiday
Have stayed at them all, but Coco is the one I always go back to, for lots of reasons. It is more updated, better location, great food, especially breakfast (awesome banana bread), and nice wide beach area.

^^^What she said love Coco & Rooms my favorite two.
Re: Legends, Cocolapalm, or Fun Holiday
Coco is the best of the 3 but it is NOT A/I. Only includes breakfast so wouldn't want you to have sticker shock upon arrival. Check out Grand Pineapple. The pool is across the road but it does have one. Much nicer than Merrils owned by Sandals and some of their touches show, but it is their lower end property, and the price is right.

Pineapple is getting pretty low down when it comes to AI. We stayed there 3 weeks last February and the food got monotonous after the first week. They were out of hard liquor some brand or the other every day. Guests were not happy and were complaining about it. We drink beer - and hated the draft (Red Stripe - watered down) they had on tap...and would go to Alfred's and pay for bottles or buy them across the street and drink them. We ended up eating 50% of our meals out over all. We always had breakfast there for convenience. But for many lunch & dinner's we went out - spending more to eat. For us the only meal we really needed was breakfast as it gets us going. We have stayed non AI in Negril before many times so our experiment with Pineapple was a good lesson in "if its not broke don't fix it".

First of all I'm jealous you can go for 3 weeks, but personally any A/I food would get old to me after one week, including a 5 star resort. I think most people that go to GP do it with intention of not eating every meal there as the selection is very limited. And I still stand by my comment that I believe GP is better than Merrills. If you want quality A/I on long beach stay at CSA, you get what you pay for, but I'm with you, non A/I is very doable on long bay within a budget.
