End of 7 mile beach in 1987

My first trip to Negril was in 1987 with my 1st wife we stayed at the negril beach club one day we walked all the way to the end of 7 mile beach the last business i recall was restaurant/bar i think that is where Cosmos is now, we proceeded down a deserted empty beach and swam in the clear calm water
we enjoyed it so much that we planned to come back the next day and stay awhile we went to the little deli/cafe that NBC used to have and bought some cheese and some god awful red wine that you could use for paint thinner, we walked all the way again and spent the day on the deserted beach,enjoyed it so much better than the NBC beach where there is a guy with a bull horn walking up and down the beach hollering for snooorkeling or para sail rides all day long but we were getting tired of that long walk both ways so we decided to stock up on wine and cheese again but take a taxi instead to the end so we told the driver what we wanted but he said he had a better idea, he took us past Cosmos for maybe a mile or so, to a stretch of jungle with a trail leading towards the beach it lead us through what looked like a deserted overgrown old resort but led us to a nice section of beach
my question is what was that last bar and what is it now, Cosmos?? and does anybody know the name of the fallen down resort we walked thru would put pictures up but guess who got those in the divorce
and what occupies that space now

Mahogany inn area perhaps??

Yamon...I thought Mahogany Inn also...but Rob said it was open in 1987...closed after Hurricane Gilbert in 1988.

Not sure if you were on Bloody Bay or Long Bay, but I'm guessing Long Bay. If it was the northern end, maybe it was the Sundowner Inn before Butch Stewart bought it and turned it into Sandals Negril???

Cosmo's has been Cosmo's in its same old location as far back as '84 when I first stayed in Negril at T-water. The were many wild stretches along the beach in those days. The area that is now Beaches family all inclusive resort was a popular nude beach. Cosmo's was a very convenient bar/restaurant.
