Seaweed washed up in Negril-full of nutrients??

I have heard of all the vitamins and nutrients in seaweed.

I wonder if all that seaweed washed up in Negril
could have been eaten if harvested properly.

The best use of the seaweed would be to leave it were it is as it would help build the beach.

To properly treat the seaweed before it begins decaying would be very costly. And to make items from it to please the Jamaican palette could prove to be equally difficult.

With all the natural fruits and vegetables available, I don't see seaweed on the menu anytime soon.

Great reference, thanks! I think the seaweed that washes up is sargassum - not sure if its edible, but I think you can make tea out of it. It does make great fertilizer though.

Compost it. All that seaweed would make great soil. Unless it is too saline. I've never seen any really good black loam in JA.
