Trip Report #4....The Local Picnic and the rain

Just like clockwork (almost)

It seemed like everyday at about 1:30 the dark clouds came in with rain.
One day I was eating a late breakfast and saw the clouds coming.
I was just across the road from my hotel,
so, I did not worry about getting stuck, besides I was enjoying myself.

There was a Local J-Family Affair/like church gathering/Picnic on the beach this day.
There were older ladies setting up the food, men gathering in groups talking.
the kids were running around on the beach and in the water and everyone was having fun.

There must have been about 50-60 folks attending.
None of the people were inside the restaurant area,
but there is a 3 foot high wall separating the beach from the sitting area.
So, I people watched for a nice while.

After about 1 hour, folks started coming out of the water
and they made a big circle like gathering, put their heads down and started praying.

A moment later, the bags started opening up.
They had brought their own food and the older ladies were dishing out the goodies.
Man, that food smelled good, huge pieces of Chicken, beef, pork and fish.
I was about 6 feet away.

I had eaten a late B-fast, but I started to get hungry again.
I hope no one saw me smacking my lips and my mouth watering.

It was well organized and all the folks were having a good time.
Funny, though, there were people of all ages there, but
it was so calm and quiet.
Even the little kids and teens were well behaved.

After a while a light rain began to fall.
As usual, it did not stop any of the party.

It was about time for me to go and get some brews anyway,
So, just as I crossed the street, the rain came down like Lions and Tigers and Bears, oh my!!

I spent the next 2 hours chillin like a villain on the Veranda with brews and what have you.
