Want to get a great meal?

Volunteer at a local school.
Teach for 1/2 a day.

At lunch time, in the school lunch room, there are angels.
You will find some local Grandmothers who have been cooking for the last 45+ years.

The baked/grilled chicken, smothered in a spicy (but not super hot)
flavorful brown gravy/sauce with rice and peas cooked in coconut milk,
steamy hot,............ comes from heaven.

It is way better than you will find in most restaurants, if not all.
(because they put love in the food).

Imagine Quality's grandma, cooking with love in her heart for the wee ones.

And......since she knows that you took your time, to help out.....
She will pile it on like know ones business.

Then when you waddle back to the class about 4 LBS. heavier,
give some more of your heart..... and blessings will surround you.

You can volunteer to teach at a school in Jamaica for a day?

Well, I did.

I just happened to bring "good clothes" with me one trip.
Now mind you, It was the school where my play son and daughter attend.
I went there, told the principal who I was.

She said "God must have sent you"
I asked WHY!!!

She said a teacher had called in sick that day,
so now you have your own class.:friendly_wink::encouragement:

I wrote a story about it here a few years ago.

At lunch time I was fed like a King.
It was great!

I would like to clarify,
that I just wrote what happened "to me" on one of my trips to Jamaica.

I am sure, there is a way, if you are sincere,
to help out a school/students in Jamaica.

After spending hours and hours teaching kids to read better, do math better, explaining history and geography,
I can't see the school "not" feeding that person a meal.

Be clean and sober,
respect the principal by showing you are sincere
and willing to work for free (volunteer)

Best 8 hours I have ever spent on the Island.

What I would suggest is to bring school supplies, books,
pay attention and just start helping the little ones.

In every class, you are more than likely to find
a little boy or girl that is not reading/keeping pace with the other students.

Take that kid under your wing and show them a few techniques
to acquire knowledge,
that we all learned in school growing up.

Then your hard work will be appreciated.
That is where the wonderful meal comes from.
