Annual Lobster Closed Season - April 1 to June 30

"The Licensing Authority of the Fisheries Division in the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries, wishes to advise the public that the annual Close Season for spiny lobsters commences on April 1 and ends on June 30, 2016.
The Fisheries Division wishes to further advise that new Regulations governing the Close Season for spiny lobsters are in effect.
An Authorization (special permission) may be granted to licensed fishers ONLY upon their formal application in writing to the Minister no later than April 15th to store spiny lobsters or parts thereof for the duration of the Close Season ..."

Listen up people.........DON'T EAT NO LOBSTER!!!!!!!!!

How about the conch? Those regulations seem a little more nebulous.

Conch closed season 2017-2018...Sept 1, 2017 - Apr 1, 2018. Conch season changes as required.

Yippee - I can get conch at least! Miss the lobster but shrimp and goat and chicken and snapper and crab (I hope) and patties and Devon House Rum Raisin and lots of stripes will fill my belly just fine.

What! No Coco or Banana Bread? No Festival, bammy or porridge? There’s plenty of good food so the lobsters are hardly missed.

Oh yeah! The coco bread from Out of Town bakery.... I even forgot my daily Jamaican breakfast ackee and saltfish. Made it Sun and will be enjoying the leftovers for breakfast this morning here in cloudy Chicago.
