Jamaican-American rapper/actor dead at 44 years old
RAP pioneer/legend Heavy D died Tuesday after collapsing in his Beverly Hills, California home. He was 44.
Heavy D was born Dwight Errington Myers on May 24, 1967, in Mandeville, Jamaica, and grew up in Mount Vernon, N.Y.
Heavy D rose to stardom in the 1990s as the frontman for Heavy D & the Boys.
He won a cameo role as a security guard in the just-released film “Tower Heist,” starring Eddie Murphy and Ben Stiller.
