I hope the revenue is worth it. Because it does not enhance the user experience. But indeed the bills gotta get paid.
The ads are supplied by Google using what they call their "Auto Ads" format. Google determines the size, placement and frequency of the ads. They claim this is to "provide a good user experience for your visitors." Well, so much for that...
But those truly annoying "anchor" ads that have been appearing at the top or bottom of your mobile phone have been "performing poorly" according to Google so we did get them to stop that nonsense...

I don't see any ads on Android or Windows Chrome. But that may be because I have ad-blocking turned on.
