Gift supplies for Schools

I have noticed that quite a few people make an effort of bringing over supplies/gifts for local schools/churches.Whats the best items to bring?

They will appreciate anything you bring. My wife and I have done this the last four years. Just be careful that you spread it out in your luggage. If you are caught bringing gifts into JA they will tax you. The standard reply if caught is that you are a teacher and have work to do. This has never deterred us from bringing the kids supplies. thanks gwhiz for the link and thanks celt for asking the question! I know there have been past posts with info, but I can never find them when I want them.

I leave in 4 SLEEPS and have 14 pair of gently used shoes, xtra bottles of pain reliever, boxes of bandaids, geeze, can't remember...had to buy a cheap set of luggage for my treasures (thankfully I get to check 3 bags, no charge). if I have room hopefully I can through in some school supplies! I won't even mind if they want to charge me something to take it in...just don't take it away from me, please.

my first trip and it will look like I am moving there permently!
