First week August?

Is Negril crazy crowded due to the Jamaican holidays the first week of August?

I'm heading down to Jamaica again on Aug 3 but maybe I'll avoid Negril the first week I'm there...

Also does anyone know what days next week are actual holidays with respect to things being open (like banks and other businesses)? Is it just independence day itself (Tues Aug 6)?

This is the huge Dream Weekend party celebrating Emancipation Day 1st and Independence Day 6th.

Banks are closed Thursday and Tuesday.

Negril will be very busy during the day and pretty much a no drive zone at night from Friday to Sunday.

Everything will be back to normal on Wednesday 7th.
