Let's add -'coronavirus' to words you should not say during any part of air travel.
I hope this wasn't anyone on this forum. We too cool for this kind of nonsense.

He should be sentenced to 2 weeks in the same isolation room as Toronto's 2 real coronavirus victims. That'd teach him not to prank about it.
Seriously, I'm concerned about what might happen if coronavirus really gets into Jamaica, which of course is not just beach resorts, it's also a third-world country whose capital Kingston has big crowded slums (and just one overcrowded public hospital downtown). But they say they're prepared: https://buzz-caribbean.com/article/o...y-coronavirus/ . Hope so!

I am reminded of the scene in Canadian Bacon where he is driving to Toronto a truck with "**** Canada" painted on the side. The police stop him and ... (we are expecting arrest or scolding at least) ... politely ask him to translate it into French. :)

I wouldn't be so quick to surmise that. There have been similiar incidents in the past here in Canada where the court has ordered compensation be paid to the airline by the person convicted of causing the incident.

Last week Two UK residents enroute to Cabo diverted plane to Winnipeg due to intoxicated unruly behaviour sentenced to 30 days and $100,000. Restitution each. That’s no slap. I think they will think twice next time!
