I was recently in Negril with my digicel phone. Digicel offered a new SIM card which enables LTE speed data. Just stop into a digicel store. There was no charge and there was an incentive of free 9 GB of data. I also learned at the store that while the new SIM was not mandatory, the old SIM would eventually stop working. Update if this applies to you.
Not right now. I have tons of contacts on my SIM and also don't want a new number, unless they can transfer my number and contacts.
They have been doing this for about two years now. The new SIM is a duplicate replacement for your old SIM. They transfer all your contacts and you have the same number.
Oh, thanks Rob. I am paranoid about my numbers since I once lost them and had to get a new SIM as well. I now write them all down but it's a pain to redo them. LOL
