Re: Tour and cab drivers
In a nutshell.....no tourist = no income....
The Closed Borders have been devastating to Jamaica especially the tour companies and drivers
That's a fact no matter what anyone says
I know Jamaicans that have lost their tour businesses, taxis, assets and life savings
Yes there were one time $10,000J grants
And there were laid off employee compensation of $9,000J every 2 weeks
But that all ends June 30....
And that's not much money to begin with as you all know
I know a lot of laid off employees from a lot of the large resorts that haven't gotten one dollar from the Jamaican government because of so called technical issues....
Just ask them and they will tell you the same
The SOS request that this guy has been receiving is really heartbreaking...
Basically in Jamaica if your not working, hustling, etc your out of luck....
So yes Breezy and most Jamaicans need outside help till things get rolling next year...
