Testing positive weeks after having Covid 19
Hypothetical question. Someone tests positive for Covid 19 now, but isn't suppose to travel until the end of the year. The person can test positive for weeks or months after all symptoms are gone. I guess they are screwed if that happens. My thought would be to get tested again about 40 days before travel so they will have enough time to get their deposit back or change plans of they are still showing positive with absolutely no symptoms. I understand they will have to get tested again within 10 days of travel, but I can't help thinking about this scenario.
Thoughts?

The testing only counts 10 days out.... the prior tests are between you and your doctor.... unless for some reason you kept uploading them to the Jamaican website....
I would suggest against uploading positive results...

I think you missed the point of my question. No one said anything about uploading positive results. It seems once again I get a snippy reply. I think I understood why few people post in here anymore

I must have missed your point. Not being snippy.
Currently no test matters until 10 days before your vacation date. You can test positive or negative before that point, but if you don't upload it, no one in Jamaica can know.
If you currently test negative within 10 days of arrival date in Jamaica, you are allowed to come in. Prior tests, positive or negative have no bearing.

Greg and Kelly, I understand your post and agree. If you have ever tested positive, it is worth a test before you pay your final deposit to see if you are still positive. Then you can decide before the 10 day out test that is required, and may be positive, and you lose your money. Great idea.

no offense but in my opinion the reason why there are not too many posts these days is there is nothing much to report. thanks to Rob to at least keeping some activity going.

Thank you for understanding the point I was trying to make. My wife tells me I think and plan too much. It's just the way I'm wired. I think since we're both in healthcare we look at things differently. Thanks again Barb
Re: Testing positive weeks after having Covid 19
Hypothetical questions tend to get hypothetical answers. If it is not the answer you are looking for, then the person answering is just giving an informed answer based on their knowledge and experience, hypothetically.
Its all good. Nothing to get hung up about...Strawberry Fields forever.

So funny...I am in healthcare as well.

Anyone that plans (and pays) for a trip to Jamaica during these times is taking a calculated risk of getting screwed. All you can do is find the best deals with the best options to opt out if you do get Covid and try to stay safe at home before your trip. I'm willing to take that risk (either my flights are from miles that I can cancel or have free date change options and I'm thinking that my long term relationship with WS will help me recoup or reuse my deposit that I gave them). That all said, I'm not going to worry about what I can't control now that I took the risk. I suggest that you do the same. I figure that if WS does keep some of my money, they'll make it up to me later down the road (and I'm at least helping them in tough times).
Just a thought...
