Key Information for Travelers to Jamaica

Travelers should avoid all travel to Jamaica.
Travel may increase your chance of getting and spreading COVID-19.
If you must travel:
Before you travel, get tested with a viral test 1–3 days before your trip. Do not travel if you are waiting for test results, test positive, or are sick. Follow all entry requirements for your destination and provide any required or requested health information.
During travel, wear a mask, stay at least 6 feet from people who are not traveling with you, wash your hands often or use hand sanitizer, and watch your health for signs of illness.
Before traveling back to the United States, get tested with a viral test 1–3 days before travel. Follow all destination and airline recommendations or requirements.
After you travel, get tested 3–5 days after travel AND stay home for 7 days after travel.
If you don't get tested, it's safest to stay home for 14 days.
If you had a known exposure to COVID-19 while traveling, delay travel, quarantine from other people for 14 days after your last known exposure, get tested, and monitor your health.

Now here's my question. Has anyone had issues returning to work after their vacation? As far as I can tell, my state has no requirements for quarantining before returning to work. I'm thinking our employers are clueless of the CDC guidelines. Do they have contact tracing after you return home? We are coming in a week regardless. Thanks in advance

CDC guidelines are just that... guidelines...not laws...just suggestions.

Each state, each city, each country applies these guidelines as they see fit. You'll have to find out how your state or city has chosen to implement the current CDC guidelines.

I'm sorry but the numbers just don't support a reason why the CDC has pushed it to a level 4. I've been tracking the numbers and the cases in Jamaica for weeks and if anything, they've gone down, and should probably be a level of two. I think this is just a political move by the US to discourage travel in general rather than mark Jamaica accurately.

Thanks! I agree with both of you. Of course with our trip being very close, worries and doubt begins to crop into your brain. Even if we had to quarantine for two weeks after returning, we were coming anyway! We'll be there on the 6th!

Greg and Kelly, great to here you are still coming. You won’t regret it, everyone here is working very hard to keep you safe. You will actually forget at times there is a pandemic!!
