Advice needed for flying from MBJ To Negril
Flying to Negril has always been on my bucket list. This trip there will only be two of us and seems like a good time to try it. Has anyone done this recently?
Which airline did you use?
Do they meet you in the transportation hall?
Do I arrange my own driver to meet me at the Negril Aerodome?
And most importantly how long does it take from start to Negril arrival?
I really appreciate any advice you may have!

Rum,
I haven't flown from Mo Bay to Negril in over twenty-five years, but I thought I would comment anyways....
The views were amazing!!
Link for Airlink:

The flight is only 20 minutes, BUT that depends on the following:
I have waited an hour in Mo Bay for a pilot to show up for a chartered flight!
The same for the weather to clear.
One time on a chartered flight, another couple had too much luggage (weight) and that caused a delay.
I have done both charter and regular scheduled flights, all can be delayed for the same reasons as mentioned above.
If your incoming flight is delayed and the sunsets, that might cancel your quick hop to Negril.
One time trying to land in Negril, there were a bunch of goats on the runway. We had to buzz the runway several times to scare them off!
I have waited an hour or more at the Aerodome in Negril for a ride, but that was before cell phones.
Enjoy,
VVHT

Have flown both air link & timair 6 times each and weather was an issue more than pilots or the airlines. They do have taxis @ the aero dome also

Rum,
Excellent choice for a bucket item. I have flown it many times back in the Air Jamaica Express days and the sights alone were worth every penny. Let alone the 20 minute flight.
I just got off the phone with Air Link, and since you didn't give a date, they were concerned that some dates in September may be unavailable. Please call or email them for details.
The goats are no longer an issue and there will be drivers available when you land.
I have flown across the island many times, and although it wasn't on my bucket list, it should have been.
This is an incredible island! From the ground and from 10,000 feet!
Please contact them.

Thank you Rob and yamon. The trip isn’t until November so I still have some time left.

We used Tim Air about a year ago. The flight is really fun and quick, but we waited an hour or so to get on it and I wouldn't say it saved any time. They had a taxi ready to pick us up at the Negril airport . That taxi was kind of expensive, so you may want to make your own arrangements if you have a regular driver. For us the extra $10ish over what I thought would be a normal rate was fine for the convenience of Tim Air just arranging it. Flying in the little plane was fun and I'm glad we did it once, but probably won't again.
Re: Advice needed for flying from MBJ To Negril
It's been many years and have flown TimAir a couple of times and it was great. We treated it as an excursion. With the walk time to get to the TimAir plane and check in and waiting to load our luggage, I'm not sure it saved any real time. We tried AirLink once. When we went to the Negril Aerodome to go back to MBJ, we were told by AirLink that all of their planes were in Kingston. They worked it out with TimAir to take us. We had to wait for the TimAir plane to arrive and shared the flight with another couple. We felt like highjackers. The other couple was expecting a private flight. And with the delay, we nearly missed our flight out of MBJ. They were already boarding by the time we got to the gate. Just my experience, but AirLink was not an enjoyable experience.
