Permethrin question?

Was having a few beers tonight with a Special Forces soldier who suggested I use Permethrin to launder all my clothing for my up coming trip to Jamaica.
I can get it at REI in Framingham.

Any one have experience laundering their clothes with this product?

I'm okay with T-shirts, shirts and shorts, but he insisted on under clothes and socks.

Anyone with experience?

Just my 2 cents, but if you haven't needed it in the past, you won't need it now unless you are going to areas really hard hit by the hurricane. I wouldn't consider Negril that bad.

I use Permethrin at home for ticks. I've never had a problem with anything but mosquitos and sand fleas. I'm my opinion Permethrin is overkill for Negril.
