Renting a phone

We will be at Rooms on the Beach in Feb. Where could we rent a phone from and how much does it cost? Thanks for the help!

If you use Alfred for your airport pick up he supplies a free phone for your trip and he can help you with getting more min to put on it.

I would like some information on phone rental as well. Clive's Transportation use to rent phones when you used their airport transfer, but now he stopped doing phone rentals. So where does one rent phone besides Alfreds? Someone is USA said to just purchase a cheap Wal Mart phone that takes SIM card and buy Digicel minutes for the phone. I brought my old flip Razor phone to AT&T and they told me the phone was not set up to take a SIM card, so now it is buy cheap phone to take SIM card or get info from this forum board where to rent phone. Only need phone to make local calls while in Negril, not call USA! Does Digicel (shop on second floor near HiLo) rent phones. Please clarify, I know not to use iPhone while there....too expensive for local calls.

Once you're there, you can buy a phone from Digicel for $2000JA, or about $25 US. For a total of around $30 US you're set with minutes etc. I don't believe they rent phones at the Digicel shop.

How much per minute to call US on a rented JA cell phone?

Most of the answers about cell phone plans are best found at http://www.digiceljamaica.com/. Looks like calling the US is $17.75JA per minute. So on the order of 20 cents US.
