Ode to Negril: Old Trip Report Poem
Dividing time between the cliffs & beach
is fun
it's hard to say which is the best one.
When you're on the cliffs, you miss the beach
and visa versa though either are in reach
Negril seems like a little town
and there is always red ground.
the negril people are friendly and recognize you
they always seem pleased to keep track
of what you do (and then tell you)
the sunsets are awesome and rarely let you down
watching from the beach, 3 dives, or some boat you found
the red stripe is great and for dieters there's lite
the 2 for 1 blended drinks at white sands are just right.
snorkeling with vincent on water colored teal
you can see a flounder, a ray or that mean spotted eel
floating on a sea bed on water impossibly green
helps you fast track out of the rat race scene
beach concerts are a piece of heaven
just don't make it before 11
snapper papaya oranges and callaloo
patties ackee just to name a few
herbs superb food is great
if you havent been to negril, set a date
the rasta boys all fit and strong
ready to share a hit from their bong
"hey pretty lady" they have the right moves
to help this stella get back her groove
hope you liked my little rhyme
its 15 degrees here it passes the time
jamaica restores me and keeps me young
tanks for your time irie i'm done
but i'll never say goodby to the isle i hold dear
cool runnings until next year
