Even though I purchased our tickets in December Expedia keeps sending me e-mails with "The Best Fares to Montego Bay".
Usually I don't check prices after I make a purchase but this time I did. They've been going up, up, up. We paid $584 per person and that is more than we ever paid before but we really wanted the nonstop flight from O'Hare to MBJ. Now the price is $845 per person! I've never even paid that much to fly to Europe. Would any of you be willing to shell out that kind of money?
Gas prices are expected to skyrocket between now and May/June. I would DEFINATELY lock in the prices and buy now - and the sky is the limit unfortunately... Not good at all. The prices are only expected to get worse.....
No way... I just booked a flight from Newark NJ on Feb 18 and only paid $294.00. If I had to go that high I would have to stay home.. so I am always on the lookout for a bargain and
just fell into this one!
I have never been to Negril and am sooo looking forward to it because of this board.

That's a fantastic deal! The most we ever paid before this trip was $435.
I'm almost afraid to think how much we'll have to pay for our trip to Europe next fall...
I fly Chicago too. Us airways has a pretty painless connection in Charlotte I like to take.. 1hr 12 min layover down, 1 HD 15 min back. $392 for both my trips, booked recently.. no way would I pay that to save 2 hours and 27 min.
We've flown with them before and today they're price is almost $600. Whatever happened to last minute deals?

I don't fly a lot so high airfare has always been the obstacle when I try to travel........
getting a inexpensive room in Negril is a piece of cake since there are always rooms available...
I usually don't have much in frequent traveler miles or points accumlated with any airline......
so have to pay what is posted on the websites.....no breaks for this guy till a sale happens......
so if the airfare is too high then I don't book.......mi just wait it out usually.......
this last reach I only paid $240 R/T on Spirit all in including one checked bag down and back........
that same flight is about double now and was double before I booked........
have no idea why they let their flights go for so cheap in Jan but mi was a happy camper.....
April looks to be on the high side and wi rising fuel prices I don't expect airfare to go down.....
mi would say if you see a half decent airfare.......book it......especially if you need dat vacation....lol

I would never buy an expensive ticket if I had just one week. We're lucky to be in Negril for 18 days. Can't wait!:D
Our tickets this time were higher than ever before. I booked in January, and immediately the price jumped up, so I am estatic I booked when I did! They are at a price now that I just would not pay.
