I have tried "deep sea" fishing with Stanley. Just like at home, fishing was good, catching was not. This trip I'm considering trying one of the locals. We are staying at Couples Negril. I understand that there are locals near the resort that will take you out. Has anyone done this? If so, how was your experience? What was the cost?
Sherm, I like to fish also. From reading multiple sources the inner fishing has been fished out for years. The miles off shore fishing can still be good depending on the guide and the day as all fishing goes. I have never been to Jamaica but investigating (for my trip) tells me the better fishing would be in a big boat miles off shore. If you find a local that can produce quality fish close shore I would be interested to know.
