Merrill's

I am always dreaming and planning for my trip, hopefully, to Negril next Feb./March..I know, it's kinda early..I will be traveling solo..have done it a few times, but I'm not quite sure where to stay...I stayed at Coco last year/trip for 2 whole weeks. Good friends from Toronto stayed there also .I loved the location, staff, security..just about everything...I wont be able to afford it this time...I've been looking at Merrill's, white sand's, Seasplash...which would be the best bet for security a (hey, i'm 62)..i don't care about luxury at all..pleasssse and thank you...

Hi Irieidette: I can relate to the dreaming and planning / I stay in the that mode all year long (ha). Lots of great places to stay - it sounds like you prefer to stay on the beach so I will let others help you out with their recomendations. I prefer to play at the beach but stay on the cliffs. I have heard that Merrill's is a decent place to stay on a budget but not sure about security. What is your budget range? that will help folks give you suggestions.

So #1 is Security so boardies - help out with SAFE places on the beach. I would recommend staying somewhere with a fridge so you can keep drinks and stuff to make sandwiches, etc. - this will really help if you are on a budget.

thanks for your help sweetness..I'm not even quite sure what my budget is this time...i'm going to have to go back to the drawing board....I really liked Coco...and felt secure...late one nite, security even stopped me to see who I was..haha...maybe I have to figure that into my plans.

Iriedette if money is tight then maybe go a little later when it is not high season

Bar B Barn has pretty good security, and it's an affordable property with good beds, good AC and good reastaurant.

Merril's has really, really good security...........I will give them that.........
great location on the beach too......
but the food is kinda hit and miss and but it is plentiful.........the breakfast there was great
drinks in tiny plastic cups so bring your own mug or order two drinks at a time.........lol
