Hi-Lites has burned and was not repaired in Feb (always a stand up - have a water - shake the smell of travel off us, really nice in the winter coming from grey to all of that color)
Twin Palms was just re-opening in Feb (for years a great fried chicken with a mango sauce and veggies to wipe that airport egg mcmuffin from 6 hours earlier out of your mind)
I didn't go to deep into archive and get pics of Biggas & Lucy Town and I should include the cleanest bathroom stops someday, but I think our friends will get idea and you purist will notice that ladies in Hopeweel should be earlier and how the rock at Whoopies got in there I can't explain.....

Thank you HillCityGurl - it was meant to give the Newbies hopefully a positive sense of the adventure of the trip across. I have a highly intuitive this trip (give him a drink he'll be happiley entertained) and a high senser whom I did the little vid for hoping to build a comfort level. That said I am a true believer in go with few expectations you will see more, but then I am a high intuitive and perceiver what do I need to go around the world,,,, my credit card. I may be one of the few people that can say I have left for a week in Jamaica literaley from not knowing I was going to being at the airport in an hour.

I love that 51 miles, loved the old road, appreciate the new. Back in the day when Coleen would fly across I would still drive to get that last blue oceaned salt air wind whipping through the window. I often drive it a couple three round trips per week when we are down. This trip will be no exception, we drop in on a Wednesday and friends drop in on Friday, means I get a pick up trip. They leave a few days earlier means I might get a drop off trip. I learn something new, encounter something new (the being stopped for the funeral was in Green Island gave me a whole new perspective, I had experienced one up above Revival one time but not quite at this level - much to be learned there) just about every trip.

I re-read my post and could see how people might think I was leading a negative trail, really I was bemoaning a couple of our favorites being in states of transition. Hi-Lites was always a we have our feet under us we can now lower that control 2 bags and be ready to pull passports out pressure, I have heard it is going to be re-built, hope so. Twin Palms was a favorite for Coleen and I when traveling by ourselves, they were always very clean, the meals were quick and I got to top off the gas tank and walk around the car and kick the tires, plus the chicken was damn good, I am sure that little berm on the other side of the highway that ruined the view did not help business but quite honestly I never saw another tourist in there and I have seen them out of patties by 10 in the morning so they were probably doing a lot of local business. And I am surprised I didn't have pics of a couple more, I got to thinking as many times as I have been at Bigga's I do not know if I have ever pulled a camera out, the whole experience is just so un-cameraey. And how do you explain in advance Lucy Town on a friday evening, I may have to circle back through the bus park for me and hope my passengers enjoy.

The nice thing about Newbies is they do pump the anticipation level up a touch as I think about sharing an adventure that is such an important part of our life.
