Re: Who Woulda Thunk It??
years ago..power-water.. all would go out, even on just Shady days lol...much better last 10 yrs....they have came a long way.....
why, they used to run out of "Kiss" snacks on the first day they got stocked on the shelves in HiLo's early days....
we just loved those Kerosene Lamp nights, with the waves lapping on the cliffs at Heartbeat
Re: Who Woulda Thunk It??
I feel ya Packrat!! Here in West Virginia, we got hit big time. Rather unusual for us....70 mile per hour winds with mucho damage. Our power is now restored but I have to admit, I have learned a lot about adapting from Jamaica. Enjoy your trip!
Rambo....Kerosene lamps are still an item that I keep at home! However, we also have several propane lamps around which were a real lifesaver this time!
Re: Who Woulda Thunk It??
even if the power was on, we would take the lamp down by the edge of the cliffs and sit there, the faded yellow flame was like
"a fireplace" flame flickering, throwing shadows....wonderful to sit back and listen to the "world" off in the distance.....very romantic......:)
